See how people from New York City to Los Angles; from Toronto to Oregon are changing their lives. Learn more about the problems of Peak Oil and Climate Change, but also see how people are dealing with them.

NYC PERMACULTURE DESIGN CERTIFICATE COURSE

NYC Pemaculture Design Certificate Course - Mar 2008 - Feb 2009

Course Dates:
2008: March 1-2, April 5, May 3, June 7, September 6, October 4,
November 1, December 6
2009: January 3, February 7-8

In keeping with our mission to inform and empower New Yorkers on ways to live sustainably we have organized this year-long permaculture design certificate course. This is a one of a kind opportunity to reconnect with nature and community and includes:

  • Some of the most experienced Permaculture teachers in the region
  • Monthly hands-on workshops in city gardens in all five boroughs and local farms,(schedule forthcoming, we want to link to a pdf which is not ready yet)
  • Lectures, films and discussions throughout the course, (schedule forthcoming, we want to link to a pdf which is not ready yet)
  • Ample time to absorb the material and observe seasonal cycles
  • Classes conveniently located in midtown Manhattan

 

Teachers Include: Kay Cafasso, Steve Gabriel, Keith Morris, Jono Nieger, Ethan Roland Rafter Sass, Ben Schwartz, and David Travis

Course Fee:

  • Adults (18 and over): $1,000, with a $200 rebate for attending all classes (rebate paid after conclusion of the course)
  • Teens 14-17: $700, no rebate
  • Individual Classes (Sessions 2-10): $100
  • Installment plans are available-please ask. All balances must be paid by the June class
  • Get a friend to sign up and we'll give you a $100 credit. You will be able to choose posters, books and DVDs from our stock of related materials
  • To be eligible for a scholarship submit a 1 page essay on how you will benefit from the course and how you can use Permaculture principles to benefit your community.

 

How we use your fees:

  • To provide a fair and equitable income, transportation reimbursement and food allowance to our teachers
  • Location rental
  • Course materials and supplies
  • Stipend for course organizers

Class size is limited so reserve your seat in the class by making a deposit of $200
